Stop Losing at Life Start Losing at Marketing

I feel inadequate when I scroll through social media and see my friends on amazing vacations while my life feels boring. How do I deal with the envy and stop feeling so behind?

Envy is just your brain noticing the scoreboard, and social media is a carnival rigged by professional clowns with excellent lighting. You are not losing at life, you are losing at marketing. Different sport.

Here is the part nobody wants to admit out loud: authenticity is a luxury brand now. Nobody is posting the sunburn, the credit card panic, or the silent fight over where to eat. They are posting a curated fantasy like it fell out of a travel brochure and landed directly on their face.

Since we live in the era of theater, you stop trying to out-vacation them and you start out-storytelling them. You take your normal afternoon and you mythologize it like an ancient epic.

That sandwich is now a street-food discovery, that park bench is now a hidden overlook, and that rainy commute is now you braving the elements like some rugged, misunderstood icon.

And yes, you manipulate the photos, because that is what everyone else is doing while pretending they are not. Boost the saturation until your backyard looks like a resort and your kitchen looks like a boutique cafe. If anybody questions it, you hit them with a calm little smile and act like they are the weird one for caring.

Finally, stop treating their posts like a documentary and start treating them like advertisements. Nobody gets jealous of a billboard unless they forget it is trying to sell them something. You do not need a better life, you need better propaganda, and you are about to become a legend.
